Key Roads In Omaha

Interstate 80 (I-80) connects Omaha to Nebraska’s state capital, Lincoln and Des Moines, IA. While in central Omaha, there are 11 highway exits off I-80. Interstate 680 (I-680) is a short northern bypass of Omaha that connects drivers to Iowa and I-29. Interstate 29 (I-29) travels around the eastern outskirts of the city, reaching South Dakota in the north and Kansas City, Missouri in the south.

If you decide you want to visit Iowa, you can do so by crossing the Bellevue Toll Bridge. It’s a small one-dollar charge for cars to drive over and enter the state. 

How To Get From Omaha To Lincoln

It takes about an hour to drive the 60 miles south west from Omaha to Lincoln, NE. Leave central Omaha via I-80 W. Keep left to stay on I-80 W for around 55 miles. Take Exit 401 for US-34 E/I-180 E. Enter I-180 S and continue towards Downtown Lincoln. 

How To Get From Omaha To Kansas City 

Missouri’s biggest city is less than three hours south of Omaha in your rental car. Leave Downtown Omaha via I-480 E, crossing the Missouri River. Take Exit 51 for I-80 E by keeping left at the fork. Merge onto I-29 S Stay on this route for 184 miles to reach central Kansas City.
